Sample Characters

Below are a selection of pre-made characters to illustrate the variety of playstyles and special abilities available to players in this system. These are built around archetypes that will be familiar to superhero fans.

There are nine Playbooks in the game, each designed around a particular archetype of superpower. One of my design goals for the system was that any superhero character could be playable, and I think I've come close.

Sundrop

BRICK characters are the toughest and strongest of all, and none are tougher and stronger than Sundrop, the superhero from the center of the solar system. Able to fly and shoot solar energy from his eyes and fists, he is a formidable force indeed. Us earthlings can rest easy knowing he's on our side.

Orb Weaver

ACROBAT characters leverage nimble reflexes and advanced athleticism to surpass their opponents in combat. Orb Weaver, the wall-crawling spider-mage, combines their martial arts prowess with a pinch of magic from the spellcasting SORCERER playbook.

Abacus

"Genius" is the only fitting word to describe Abacus, the brilliant scientist turned superhero. Wielding science-fiction technology and incredible intellect, a GADGETEER can invent a solution to just about any problem.

Foresight

PSYCHIC characters are masters of the mind. Special agent Foresight is no exception, with the power to read minds, communicate telepathically, and fling heavy objects around with only a thought.

Mirror

There's no playbook quite as versatile as the SHAPESHIFTER, the mercurial masters of disguise. Engineered to be the perfect spy, Salem Summers uses their shapeshifting abilities to infiltrate and deceive, rather than for combat. In a pinch, they can duplicate their opponent's abilities for a deadly mirror match.
